Born in Wichita Falls, James Cook manages to capture the haunting stories from the Red River and bring them to life with every song he touches. Cook has ventured into many styles of music throughout the several years he’s been creating and performing. From Texas Soul, Country, Americana to Rock n Roll, he always aims for what pleases him. For two years he’s traveled with a guitar and suitcase around Texas playing for listening rooms and soaking in the music scenes from different areas.
Fresh off his win in the Rattle Magazine Singer/Songwriter Competition, Cook, has recently recorded at the legendary Fort Worth Sound for the Rattle Studio Sessions. Cook describes the experience as “A collection of music I have wanted to record, stripped down to an acoustic, my wife and myself. Bart Rose gave us a good path and a relaxed atmosphere to do so. Ft Worth Sound had an uncritical energy that allowed us to create this EP”. James is promoting the album and getting the word out on his follow up album, Lullaby for the Rapture, due out late 2016.
Ready to unveil his latest and crowd favorites, James Cook rolls on with a new experienced band ready to bring his sound to the masses.
Jeff Jacobs Band
A Texas live oak can’t be strong without roots.
Jeff Jacobs Band, the band and the self-titled studio album EP, was always about getting the right ingredients together, from the beginning, to lay down roots for great things. The band did that with Grammy nominated producer Mack Damon and established the San Antonio, Texas-based lineup with singer-songwriter Jeff Jacobs, and the founding members of the Jeff Jacobs Band in bassist Nathan Schmidt, drummer CJ Gore, and the passionate lead guitar work of Jeffery Paul Cox.
