Shane Smith and the Saints

Shane Smith and the Saints unleash a spirited, four-part harmony sound at every show that music fans can’t quite put their finger on, yet have no trouble putting their hands together for.

Hints of folk, rock, country and Americana all shine through an aggressive, rootsy fiddle beat stew that’s connecting with students, hipsters, bikers, roughnecks and songwriter buffs at every stop.

Although Springsteen long ago cornered the market on gritty, high-energy live performances, the band takes a back seat to no one in grinding out great live shows at legendary venues across the Southwest and beyond.

Shea Abshier and the Nighthowlers

Shea Abshier and the Nighthowlers

The new album from Texas born talent Shea Abshier couldn’t come at a better time. Growing up with deep familial roots in the community of Stephenville TX, Shea and his Nighthowler compatriots are emerging as part of the new generation taking the reins in a region steeped in accomplishments. The album, titled Potluck, was recorded under the patronage of Larry Joe Taylor at his renown Melody Music Ranch. As its name suggests, the album is a sampling from the diverse melting pot that is Texas music, with shades of blues and gospel texturizing an unshakable rock and roll foundation.

Composed of Shea Abshier on lead vocals, Tyler Moses on rhythm guitar and backup vocals, Chase Chancellor on drums, Paul Oliger on lead guitar and Monty Scrogum on bass, the Nighthowlers’musical backgrounds are as unique as the music they create. The band will be rolling out songs from the new album during their fall tour, anchored by several festival appearances including Crazy Water Festival, Bacon Bash and Fiesta Jam.

With Potluck’s anticipated release drawing near, Shea looks forward to opportunities to continue to share his gift, tour, and write. He says, “Music is my calling. It’d be selfish to say that music has played a huge roll in my life, because I’m pretty sure music touches everyone. That’s why I play it.”
